Easy, easy, easy! An hour flight from Phoenix
There is an airport ten miles from the condo. The city of Guaymas, population, 100,000 services San Carlos. Several airlines fly directly to Guaymas (GYM). Or fly into Hermosillo (HMO) 75 miles north of San Carlos. Check flights with: America West, US Airways, Delta, Aero Mexico
Many people fly into Tucson and drive 5½ hours through the Sonora Desert to San Carlos. There is a beautiful toll road from the border all the way to San Carlos. It's a 4-lane divided highway the entire drive, as nice as any highway in the U.S., well paved, with modern service stations all along the route.
Directions To Condo
From SanCarlos/Guaymas Airport
Exit Airport to Hwy 15. Go north 4 miles to San Carlos Exit. Follow the road toward San Carlos 4 miles. At the first traffic circle, turn left around the circle to head back in the direction you just came. Then make a quick right at the 1st street. Follow signs to Condos Bahia or Condos Pilar. This road is about 1 mile with one right hand veer. This is also the road to the Estuary Soldado.
From Tucson
Exit the Airport on Airport Road, left at Valencia to Interstate 19. Go south 50 miles, toward Nogales. Before Nogales (border) exit for Hwy 189, Mariposa Road. This is the exit for the truck crossing; also know as Nogales III Crossing. This is much faster than going through the Mexican town of Nogales.
At bottom of exit turn right. Follow signs to border. Cross border and stay on Mexican Hwy 15. Follow signs to Hermosillo. At the 10 mile mark there is Mexican passport/Immigration control. Stop and go in, fill out the paperwork for a visa. You will need a passport. Takes 10 minutes.
Get back on road and go all the way to Hermosillo. It's about 3 hours.
There is a new bypass for Hermosillo. Just follow signs for Hwy 15 and Guaymas. It is really easy and if you get lost, the locals are extremely friendly.
After Hermosillo, it's only 80 minutes to the condos. Before Guaymas, you will see the turn off to the right for San Carlos.
